"Simone Says" is the fifth episode in the second season of NYPD Blue. It aired on November 15, in 1994.
Synopsis[]
Detective Bobby Simone joins the precinct; Abruzzo threatens Lesniak; a woman (Barbara Bosson) alleges child abuse.
Plot[]
Bobby Simone, a widower and homing pigeon breeder, joins the squad as Kelly's replacement. Simone's first assignment is to help Sipowicz in the investigation of the hit on a mobster's son, where a stray bullet also hit an elderly woman in her apartment. Meanwhile, Lesniak tries to help a woman who's worried that her husband is molesting their daughter, and an over-the-edge Abruzzo pulls his gun and threatens Lesniak in the squad room for leaving him.

- Paula, the model from Elizabeth, NJ says she grew up gazing across the river at Manhattan. Elizabeth borders Newark Bay, not the Hudson River, which obviously what was the river she was referring to and does not have a view of Manhattan.
- The title is a play on the words "Simon Says".
